@4WHY ARE AMBLIN`S PLANS RUBBISH?
===============================
@1
As you probably all know by now, Amblin`s plans to produce Doctor Who
are to set the new series before "An Unearthly Child" took place.
I've got one thing to say, and I'd appreciate it if someone would agree
with me...
Um... to paraphrase a little, I will show from three epistopic instances of the
spectrum that what Amblin is thinking/going to do will not work at all. This
is one time think that Auntie Beeb should step in here. At least have someone
get JNT on the telly.
@71) The Three Doctors
@1
Castilan: Show me the first doctor.
< picture of Bill Hartnell appears on the screen >
@72) Mawdryn Undead (heavy paraphrasing)
@1
Mawdryn: Why won't you help us Doctor?
Tegan: Doctor why? All they want is death?
Doctor: Tegan, I can only regenerate 12 times. I have done so four times
already. Each one of them would take a regeneration away from me. I
would no longer be a Time Lord.
@73) The Five Doctors (Strongest argument here I think)
@1
Doctor#1: uh...regeneration???
Doctor#5: Fourth!
D1: Goodness me, so there are five of me now!!!
@5...
@1
Tegan: Who might you be?
D1: I, young lady, am The Doctor. The ORIGINAL you might say!

How can you say you are going back to the beginning, AND plan on having the
Doctor regenerate. I have just stated three different scenes where it is
IRRIFUTABLY stated that the Bill Hartnell Doctor IS the first Doctor. There
many other such scenes as well. These just happen to be the first three that
came into my head.
That point is fully valid, and Amblin (Valeyard) you can not refute it.
I've got a saying for Amblin, since it is blatantly obvious that you didn`t
do your homework. WTFV (Watch The Freakin' Videos)!!!! You will upset
a lot of TRUE WHO fans if you carry out your plans.
As far as the whole mystery of 'who' The Doctor is, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. This
is why I love the program so much. I don't know who he is, I don't know why he
left Gallifrey, and I don't care. All I care about is that he upholds his
values and keep getting little hints to guess at.
Doc#7: And didn't we have trouble with the prototype.
Ace: We?
D7: They.
Remembrance of the Daleks
Lines like the following will have no more special meaning or humor in
whodom.
Ian: Dr. Foreman, please listen.
Doc#1: Hmm. What? Doctor Who? What's that young man blabbing on about.
Ian: <to Barbara> Who is this man? Doctor Who!??!?
Crichton: Who was the strange little man?
Soldier: The Doctor!
Crichton: Who?
Amblin, what I want to know is why you want to ruin a good thing? No wait, let
me rephrase that. It would satisfy my curiosity to know why you are going to
such lengths to upset the already HUGE fan base that Dr. Who has in the USA?
I feel like I'm fighting the Knackers Yard on this one. Where's The Master?
When's he going to show his smug little face?
I can firmly say, that if Amblin does what it's thinking of doing, I can't see
myself getting through the pilot movie. I would also write a letter to the
FOX network and strongly urge them not to pick up the show.
Some suggestions, either bring Sophie and Sylvester back and pick up where
Survival left off, or have an eighth Doctor with a new companion and stay with
the continuity of the past 30 years. I implore you, don't throw 30 years of
great TV out the window, and don't justify it with "How do we know that it
William Hartnell wasn't the first Doctor?".
I will close with this for emphasis:
@3Tegan: Who might you be?
D1: I, young lady, am The Doctor. The ORIGINAL you might say!
